Borderline Kişilik Bozukluğunda Örseleyici Çocukluk Yaşantıları ve Ruhsal Bulgular

The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between childhood traumatic experiences and neurotic symptoms, recurrent suicidal behavior and self-mutilation in patients with borderline personality disorder. The study was carried out in 36 in patients aged 18-39 who were treated in psychiatry service at Çukurova University Hospital between the years 1992 and 1996. The ones who were diagnosed psychotic disorder in axis 1 were excluded. 26 (72.2 %) patients reported experiencing childhood trauma. Childhood traumatic experiences were related to dissociative symptoms, recurrent suicidal behavior and self-mutation. Dissociative symptoms were found significantly more among the patients with a history of physical and sexual abuse and recurrent suicidal behavior.
