Everyone may feel social anxiety in certain circumstances at various degrees. As a symptom social anxiety may be a part of social phobia, "performance anxiety", general anxiety disorder or avoidant personality disorder. Currently there are two scales developed to measure social anxiety in children and adolescents. This study aims at investigating reliability and validity of Social Anxiety Scale for Children-Revised. To this end, the scale was giyen to 452 children in three different schools. Retest study was carried out one month later with 192 of there students. Inner consistency was found to be high according to Cronbach alfa method (a=0.81). Test retest correlation was also high (r=0.81). Validity study was carried out with clinical cases of social phobia; SASC-R was able to dillerentiate cases form normal controls. It is concluded that SASC-R a reliable and valid tool to measure social anxiety in children and adolescents.
