Atipik Başlangıçlı Bir Subakut Sklerozan Panensefalit Olgusu

Subacıte Sclerosing Panencephalitis is a chronic viral infection of CNS caused by defective measles virus. Its incidence has decreasecl clefinetily in developed countries in last decades, as a reflection of the routine vaccination programmes. Its common onset is in childhood or adolescent period after a 6 to 8 years incubancy period whereas late onset cases have been reported not infiequently in last decades. Diagnosis is usually made with history. Clinical findings, electroencephalographic findings and estimation of CSF Rubeola-IgG value. In childhood, common presentation of illness is mental deterioration and behavioral changes, however we reported a childhood case with extrapyramiclal system involvement as a cause of first complaints and the discussion is made under the light of literature.
