Epileptic Auras

Epileptic auras have been recognize in the literature since antiquity. Aura is a feeling that portion of the seizure which occurs before consciousness is lost and for which memory is retained afterwards. They mimic psychiatric symptoms, but stereotipi and persistence of the symptoms are important for diferantial diagnosis. Auras are classified as somatosensorial, visual, auditory, vertigionus, olfactor, gustatory, epigastric, cephalic and psychic auras. An aura provides evidence of focal seizure onset. The clinical features of the aura were as useful in localizing the site of epileptic focus.
