The therapeutic medium in the psychiatric clinics ought to have the qualities that will enable patients to grow more self-respect and self confidence. Besides, it ought to include such qualities as to help patients improve relations with the therapeutic team and with one another; thus enabling them to turn back to the society that they belong to. In psychiatric clinics where it is aimed to organize a therapeutic medium, group activities with inpatients carried out by nurses has the purpose of improving both the skills social interacting in patients by means of communioation and interaction within the group and of improving their self-respect by increasing their ability tü solve problems that they encounter in units or problems that they personally declare to have. Finally the purpose of such a medium is the estabilishment of an understanding among patients by means of which they will support one anotler.
