The ainı of this study was to assess whether there existed any dillerence between traumatic spinal cord injured patients of less than one year and more thıın one year after injury in terms of depression and anxiety levels. Twenty patients from several clinics of Uluda ğ University Medical Faculty and from Rehabilitation Departınent of Military Hospital of Bursa were included in this study. The patients were divided into two groups according to the time after injury. While the first group of 8 patients were evaluated before 1 year post-injury, second group of 12 patients were evaluated 1 year post-injury. Patients evaluations were pe ıformed by using Prime-MD and SCID personality disorder screening format, depression levels were assessed by Hamilton and Beck depression scale and anxiety levels by Spielberg scales (STAI-1, STAI-2). As a result of this cross-sectional study, while no statistically significant dillerence was found in anxiety levels between two groups, the depression level was observed to be significantly higher, and considering the prevalence of less severe depression level we believe that it is appropriate to define these patients in context of "adjustmerıt disorder with depressive mood".
