In this study, 537 students (321 girls and 217 boys) of high school were screened by SCL-90-R. We examined the distribution and level of psychological symptoms and the symptoms relation to the socieconomical variables. 309 students (208 girls, 101 boys) had global severity index (GSI) above the one point (at the psychological level), 90 % of students had low educational level and 55 % low economical status, 46 % of students reported the preferred the school from economical necessity. In respect to subscales, the numbers of students whose GSI score higher than 1 point were as follows: For somatization 237, for obsessive-compulsive 373, for interpersonal sensitivity 413, for depression 331, for anxiety 359, for anger-hostility 294, for phobk anxiety 147, for paranoid thinking 301 , for psychotic symptoms 216, for sleep-eating problems 333.
