The forensic psychiatric patient population, who had a prolonged hospitalization because of the judicial forced treatment decision and community care, is one of the interesting populations of interaction. Sexual atitudes and behaviours of these patients are important and less attention has focused on this subject. In this study, it is hypothesized that the close and under scrutiny psyhiatry conditions may change the sexual attitudes and the behaviours of patient. The study is performed at Fronsic Psychiatry Unit in Bak ırköy State Hospital for Psychiatric and Neurological Diseases, which is the main forensic investigation and treatment unit of Turkey, having 175 male patiets beds only for long-term forensic hospitalization. A demographic form and the structured questionnaire concerning sexual attitudes and behaviours is giyen to male patients. Subjects were interviewed in privacy by male investigators. Current psychiatric approach includes prevention studies, diagnose facilities, appropriate psychiatric approach, readaptation and regaining social adjustment studies. Sexuality of patients also has to be taken into consideration within these studies.
