Dermatoglyphics of 48 male norcotic addicts were compared with those of 250 male control cases. Arch type dermatoglyphics were of small number in the fingertips of hashish addicts where as whorl pattern was observed more frequently in cocaine addicts. Furthermore, radial loop pattern was decreased in fingertips of all cases as compared with those of the control cases. On individual evaluation of the fingertips, ulnar loop pattern was detected in an increased number on the II nd fingertips of both hands, where as radial loop type were observed lens frequently. Similarly, whorl pattern was observed in decreased number on the II nd fingertips on the left hand. There were lower finger ridge counts in the total cases of narcotic addicts than those of control cases.
