An Arachnoid Cyst Case Presented with Neuropsychiatric Symptoms

The relationship between structural brain lesions and mental disorders should be considered when formal diagnosis can not be possible. Arachnoid cysts generally asymptomatic express themselves with epileptic seizures, headache and focal neurologic findings when they are symptomatic. Arachnoid cysts may produce severe structural changes in brain when they exist since childhood. These structural changes may result in cognitive deficits, atypical psychiatric symptoms. Negative previous psychiatric history, negative family history and negative evident EEG pathology often present in these cases.
