It's claimed that there is a positive correlation between positive symptoms and basal cortisol levels of chronic schizophrenic patients. ın this study both negative and positive symptom scores of schizophrenic patients and basal cortisol levels were analysed. Between total negative scores of each patient shown weakly negative statistically significant correlation with basal cortisol levels. Also basal cortisol levels of chronic schizophrenic patients compared with normal control group there was no significant dilierence.
