Schizophrenia is a disease that is characterised with defects in cognitive, emotional and social areas. In fact, schizophrenia is a group of pathologies which has different subtypes and processes. This study's objective is to compare patients who show Soft Neurlogical Signs (SNS) with patients who don't show SNS regarding cognitive functions. 17 schizophrenic patients with SNS, 23 schizophrenic patients without SNS that are followed in Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty's psychiatric outpatient clinic and 20 healthy volunteers were included into the study. SNS were determined by using neurological rating scale. Neuropsychological tests which consisted of 14 sub tests were applied to both the patient and the control group. As a result, members of the group with. SNS had clear deficient cognitive functions compared to the members of the other two groups. Members of the group without SNS had only worse performance in executive and memory functions than the members of the control group.
