In recent years transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has become one of the most important developments in neurology. First clinical application of TMS was made by Baker in 1985 and now it is used routinely in clinics. Stimulation of motor cortex noninvasively from the scalp of an awake man by TMS provides the appraisal of physiological integrity of motor tracts. The most important advantage is the painless application, when compared wih conventional methods. MS is mostly used for measuring central conduction time and then for peripheral conduction time. TMS is a practical method that can be used easily in clinics for diagnosis. Also TMS provided us important knowledge about the explanation of cerebral functions in neurophysiology.
