This work covers 175 randomly selected cases taken under observation in "Bakırköy State Hospital of Psychiatric and Neurological Disorders" with the diagnosis of first episode schizophrenia on different dates. The aim of the study is to investigate the diagnostic differences between the repeated hospitalisations, the causes of these differences (clinic changes, treatment differences, secondary psycho-active matter using) and whether the schizophrenia diagnosis shows a continuity or not. For the statistical analyses have been used Mantel-Haenszel, Chi square and Fisher's Exact (one-tail) testings. Finally in 89 cases hawing repeated hospitalisations whilst the clinic change has a meaningfull efect on the diagnostic differences statistically, a treatment difference or secondary psycho-active matter using has not been encountered.

It is noteworthy to mention that different diagnosis in our study and the last hospitalisation diagnosis of all patient, discharged from the hospital, is schizophrenia.
