The comorbidity of eating disorders with other psychiatric disorders is of special interest in recent years. In this stucly, which is made Bakırköy Mental Diseases Training and Research Nospital between October 2001-February 2002; eating disorders and comorbid mood disorders in 72 female patients who meet OSM-IV alcohol or durg use disorders criteria were investigated.

Eating disorder rates were found significantly higher in the alcohol or drug dependent group (% 16.1) compared to both controls (% 2.4) nd alcohol or durg abuse group (% 0). And alcohol or drug abuse group (% 0). And depressive disorders were significantly higher in the alcohol or durg dependent group (% 69.6) compared to the control group (% 17.1). In alcohol or drug dependent group the rate of sexusal trauma at childhood were higher (% 16.1) than the controls (% 0), and the rate of non-sexual trauma didn't diller between groups.

Comorbidity between alcohol or drug depency and eating disorders was foun in our sutdy too, consistently with the findings in the literature. Association between both syndromes were discussed in the context of other corrurrent pathologies.
