Ruptered intracranial aneurysms related hydrocephalus development, following a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a common complication. Due to the increase in cerebral arterial vasospasm and intracranial pressure, detoriation of the general state of the patient may occure. This complication may call for an additional operation. Therefore, the prognostic factors as patient follow-up, early diagnosis and strategy of the treatment that affect hydrocephalus development, are considered important. Ninetysix cases that developed SAH due to aneurysm rupture and undergone aneurysm clipping operation were examined at Bakırköy Mental Hospital, Department III of Neurosurgery. These cases were examined according to age, gender, existance of hypertension, alcohol and tobacco usage, aneurysm localization, income-outcome neurological state. In our study, prognostic factors of ruptured aneurysm related and SAH developing cases of hydrocefalus, were discussed on the grounds of the related literature.
