In literature, Usher Syndrome is indicated as the most frequent cause of combined blindness and deafness in adults and it is stated that these patients face psychiatric disorders quite frequently. It has been suggested that the most frequently encountered psychiatric disturbance in patients with Usher syndrome is "a psychiatric disorder which is described as similar to schizophrenia" and it is also noted that 24 % of these persons have at least one psychotic episode throughout their lıfetime.
